I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend. Long weekends means hanging out with friends and family and FOOD. Being a body builder, I have always packed my food in meal prep containers, and I bring extra in case I stay longer, so I don’t run out. This past weekend was no different, I packed my food with me and brought extra snacks. People are so worried what other people think, if you bring your own food and stay consistent with your diet. But you know what, who cares. This is your goal, and this is for you. Yes, I got comments on what food I was eating, yes good and yes more challenging one. But one thing I did get was wow I do admire your dedication, and this is something you need to be PROUD of.
After everyone sat down to eat their meal, I did get one question that caught me off guard a bit. Well I should say the question didn’t, but rather that there wasn’t really an answer. The question was, what would be one thing you would recommend to cut out of your diet.
Yes, I do have one thing I would recommend, but it is NOT just that. Eating healthy and having a active life is a whole lifestyle change. I recommend to my clients to eat 80% whole foods, 20% treat foods to enjoy with your friends and family. It is all about reducing the processed foods and increasing healthy whole foods. Life does happen, events, holidays, get togethers, and it’s knowing how to still enjoy the foods you love without going overboard and still staying on track. Yes, I have cake, yes, I have pizza… But it’s knowing and education on what each food is. If I knew I was going to have a piece of cake at supper tonight, then I wouldn’t have, or rather have less of foods such as sprouted grain bread, rice, muffins, fruit, etc… Yes, these all can be good options, but all of them?
Can you guess why?
If you want to learn more, I would highly recommend hoping on a call with me and I’d love to share with you more.
But you are probably waiting for the number 1 thing to change. Honestly, I wouldn’t cut this out completely, its almost impossibly to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle, but if you really want an answer, I would say SUGAR… Again, it is knowing and being education on what sugar is, where is it hidden. I can guarantee 99% of you are eating forms of sugar and not even realizing it.
This is just part of the foundation that a person can learn about living a more healthy and active life.
I would love to further discuss why sugar is my number one diet change I would make and educating you on what this really means, and all the hidden places sugar is. If you want to hop on a call, click on the link below. I look forward to chatting with you.
